Character Education is the wider personal development of our students beyond the academic education they receive in school. It aims to instil in student’s key characteristics and values such as resilience, honesty, motivation and humility, all of which will help them in their adult lives. At Hurworth School, our core values are Respect, Resilience, Relationships and Responsibility. Our assembly programme focusses on the development of these values and we also offer a number of opportunities to develop leadership through our prefect and per mentoring programmes. These programmes teach students about taking responsibility, developing resilience, building positive relationships and showing respect.
